Trinity is led by Vanessa B. Beasley, Ph.D., the University's 20th President. The President works with an executive leadership team that makes up the President's Cabinet. The University is governed by a diverse Board of Trustees, which establishes policies for the governance of the University.


Vanessa B. Beasley

Vanessa B. Beasley, Ph.D. began her tenure in July 2022 as Trinity University’s 20th president in the school’s 153-year history. Guided by the University’s student-centered mission and vision, Beasley stands ready to lead one of the nation’s top liberal arts universities.

Beasley, Trinity’s first female president, previously served as vice provost for academic affairs, dean of residential faculty, and an associate professor of communication studies at Vanderbilt University. Beasley’s areas of academic expertise include the rhetoric of American presidents, political rhetoric on immigration, and media and politics. She attended Vanderbilt as an undergraduate and earned a bachelor of arts in speech communication and theatre arts. She also holds a Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Texas at Austin.

President Beasley is married to Trey Beasley and they have two adult sons. She enjoys traveling, listening to live music, and lifting weights in her free time.

Megan Mustain

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Megan Mustain, Ph.D., oversees all academic programs as well as the academic budget and contributes significantly to Trinity University's vision and strategic goals. She develops and mentors faculty and professional staff in Academic Affairs, including Coates Library, TU Press, and the Registrar.

Vice President for Alumni Relations and Development

Michael Bacon, CFRE, has more than 25 years of experience as a senior-level development and external relations executive, where he specialized in the creation and implementation of strategic fundraising programs. At Trinity, Bacon provides leadership and strategic vision to University fundraising and alumni engagement.

Eric Maloof

Vice President for Enrollment Management

Eric Maloof serves as Trinity's chief enrollment officer and is responsible for strategic planning, overall management, and daily administration of the Office of Admissions, Student Financial Services, and Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation.  He is dedicated to the mission of promoting Trinity's reputation as a top national liberal arts and sciences institution and to maintain an enrollment of talented, diverse and innovative students.

Gary Logan

Vice President for Finance and Administration

Gary Logan is a financial management leader with expertise in financial forecasting, modeling, and business operations management. He is a CPA and serves as Trinity’s chief financial officer, providing leadership in the areas of budgeting, endowment management, purchasing, facilities services, human resources, student financial services, conferences, and campus police.

Brandi P. Jones

Vice President for Inclusive Engagement (VPIE)

A national thought leader in STEM higher education, Brandi P. Jones, Ph.D. has extensive experience in creating best practices for access, inclusion, and talent development for minoritized communities in science and engineering. At Trinity, she promotes opportunities for learning among all members of the campus community as well as engagement within San Antonio and the region.

Frank Guerra

Vice President for Strategic Communications and Marketing

Frank Guerra combines his expertise in corporate marketing, political-style marketing and human-centered research to develop innovative marketing and strategic communications solutions. Frank recently retired from the advertising, marketing and public relations firm he founded 26 years ago, having worked for clients that included Procter & Gamble, Sprint, Citibank, Whataburger, the Don’t mess with Texas Campaign®, and the Texas Department of Transportation.

Andrew M. Wells

Vice President for Student Affairs

Andrew M. Wells, Ph.D., serves as chief student affairs officer. In this role he oversees Integrated Counseling, Health Services and Wellness Services; Residential Life; the Chapel & Spiritual Life; the Dean of Students Office; Student Inclusion & Belonging; and Student Engagement & Development.

Erika Robinson, Esq.

General Counsel

As General Counsel, Erika Robinson, Esq. J.D., provides important legal oversight and strategic guidance for the University. She is a subject matter expert in Title IX issues and has extensive experience in many other legal matters, including employment, academics, privacy, and risk management. She holds a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.

Luisa Casso

Chief of Staff / Executive Director, Office of the President

As chief of staff, Luisa Casso helps manage internal collaboration as well as relationships with external partners, monitor the execution of the University’s strategic plan, and supervise staff in the President’s Office. Casso brings more than 20 years of public affairs experience in the private, public, civic, and nonprofit arenas.

Claire Smith ensures effective execution of priorities on behalf of the President and the Board of Trustees.
